Polo shirt vs T shirt

What’s the difference between a polo shirt and T-shirt?

A t-shirt is just a plain shirt with pretty much no buttons or collars or anything on it, it will probably have a design or picture or writing on it but it doesn’t have to.

A polo shirt is either solid or in a basic pattern like stripes, and has a collar with about two-three buttons beneath it.

T-shirts are just casual, typically worn with jeans or skirts (if you’re a girl), while polo shirts could be worn with something nicer like dress pants, but could also be worn with jeans or a t-shirt. Think of like a school’s uniform when you think of a polo shirt, it’s more like that.

Polo shirts are just a more “preppy” style while t-shirts are the kind of thing everybody wears on a daily basis.
